I was indignant at the idea that social media is a serious problem until recently. Free speech is a good thing, right?
:( I'm not yet but I can see the argument if nasty views inspire mob mentality & embolden the alt-right.

I don't use Facebook, but I used to spend a lot of time on reddit, where people can set up their own group discussion forums.

And some of these 'subreddits' are genuinely unhinged. These are extreme echo-chambers with *no* disagreement.

Like, you couldn't debate anyone in them, cos you'd just be instantly banned.

So, what happens is that everyone just reinforces each other's views and it gets crazier and crazier.

I can see the problem! Same as with radical mosques. Hype everyone up. Wld support closing them if shown to do this.

Never go there. I can see how brainwashing it cld be but think there'd have to be evidence of danger or a state of emergency
