It effectively is an identity, whether one wants it to be or not. Anything that sets you apart is a part of your identity.

I have good tweeps among sceptics. This is primary to me & I click with like-minded ppl. I don't see a problem there.

Yeah, that's where I'm more comfortable with Secularism than Humanism, even though both theoretically don't exclude religion.

I'm comfortable with humanism. It doesn't require any values I don't have & is tolerant of different ones.
