i dont think restraining orders are a good thing, unless there was actual violence. (with actual trial and conviction)

I do. I think ppl shld be able to ask to be left alone & if ignored have recourse to law to ensure they are.

Harassment laws? Yes. They usually result in a restraining order. Daughters ex also got fine & compulsory hospitalisation.
