Well, no. You don't have to believe in anything to be an atheist. You only have to disbelieve in one thing.
The existence or non-existence of God (content) is a minor detail. Both groups defend (contain) their ideas the same way.
But atheists don't all have the same ideas coz we've only got 1 disbelief in common. We're defined by things we do believe in.
In the same way, ppl who disbelieve in ghosts or homeopathy might not share any positive beliefs at all.
Sometimes ppl who believe in a god think that coz that's such a huge influence on them disbelief in gods must be on others.
But in fact, when you disbelieve in something, your positive focus is somewhere else - on the things u do believe in.
I believe in human rights, equality & freedom. Some atheists don't. Some God-believers do. Therefore I'm more like the latter.
Those ideas are related to purpose, the Blue vMeme. I suggest that both #Atheists and #Christians seek purpose.
Humans do generally, yes. Purpose is a primary psychological need.
