I often find that I come from a different direction than most of the atheists I speak to coz religion was not comforting or reassuring 4 me.

But I've realised that most ppl simply aren't that literal & don't think things thru to logical conclusion re: religion. Its fuzzy & benign.

The most common attitude seems to be to believe in a benign figure who shares your values and will see you OK.

I just read that only 2% of ppl who believe in Hell think they themselves might go there.

People should grow out of the idea of God like they grow out of the idea of Santa. I guess when its drummed in at home it harder

@BarryJM_Guitar I had a tendency to OCD which is a recipe for disaster when focused on religion but u don't need OCD to take it literally. -

@BarryJM_Guitar Yes but I overcame OCD. Well now. Left me with both concerns abt religion & ppl taking on mental illnesses as identity! -
I worry abt ppl who self-diagnose mental illness & then glamorise it & wallow in it & make it who they are.

I did correctly guess someone had NPD once, but was just luck. A persons conditions are not easy to determine
