I seem to encounter 2 levels of interest in the Street Epistemology thing - absolute commitment or zero interest!
So you do use it as *part* of a strategy for having productive conversations?

Yes. Use the same principles. Listen, try to understand their argument accurately, ask good questions.

It's really helped me have more productive convos w/a far right family member. It's helped move her slightly on some positions.

Excellent! I've had some successes too. Only one Muslim to atheist but lots of slight but important shifts.

Yes. This might explain some hesitation you've noticed. Not always instant change, and the change that happens is small.

But I think that's why it's so effective, because you're guiding the IL to change their own mind. It's often a slow process.
