Apparently, 'Because I don't enjoy your company' is not an acceptable answer to 'Why haven't we seen you for so long?"

I did temper it with 'you wouldn't enjoy mine if I spoke about anything that interested me & I really want to do that sometimes." Still no.

I don't like feeling obligated to 'make conversation.' If conversation doesn't happen naturally, its prob best to go talk to someone else.

Many see conversation as compromise. Talk abt what interests u. Then what interests them.OK re: family whom you love but have diff interests

But in broader social situations? Why meet up with ppl to take it in turns to talk abt things only the individual is interested in?

If someone asks you to come over - they probably like you. Even if the conversation is awkward. At least give them that.

I do! I do the first meetings. I just don't like the pressure to keep doing it. As tho not doing it means I hate them.

My boss pops into the office almost every day for a long chat to see the two introverts who work for him. We can't stand it.

But I think he just doesn't get it. He doesn't realise we hate it. That we just want to be left alone to work.

And neither of us are capable of telling him that. That we don't enjoy long chats. Don't want to offend him.

:( Oh dear. Leave introvert literature abt. Usual hints like 'Well, I mustn't keep you...' No?
