"Works for everyone" = pragmatic but you'd still have to have principles of equality & freedom to make the aim "for everyone"

Perhaps all that must be accepted is the fact of pluralism, of variance in our own & others tastes, preferences, behaviors, etc.

Work in what sense? I argue for it cos I think it gives more ppl more rights & freedoms. Don't know if it will survive.

I waver on this. Steven Pinker encourages me but Jonathan Haidt showed how small & new WEIRD societies are. Stats not good.

So ultimately I come down to *arguing* for tolerance, equality, cooperation as a principle which would also work if we let it.
