I've seen more people who think their opinion should hold more weight than others' experiences. Opinion /=statistics

They could be right or wrong. Depends whether the opinion or the experience tallies with the facts of the matter.

precisely my point. Having an opinion about someone's experience isn't the same as having better facts about their experience.

eg If someone experiences same sex marriage as an invalidation of the sanctity of their opp sex marriage, they really feel it

Others can still argue that, in fact, it doesn't affect their marriage in any way & that they'd do better to get over it.

Or someone cld experience criticism of her writing as sexism or racism but others could look at the evidence and disagree.
