Yeah, I don't dispute this but these are caused by dogma in general too. I think we have to look at the deeper traits.

The scripture may be a wash unless we include hadith (which many don't) but the historical examples of prophets is significant.

You cld do some kind of analysis in which you compare bible & magisteria with Quran & ahadith to determine which more violent.

But I don't think it wld have much bearing on reality. Religion is an evolving lived thing & its qualities fluctuate.

Most of it is kind of a wash, granted, but do you agree the difference between prophets is vast?

Yes, I've said so. If ppl lived as Muhammad did or as Jesus did, latter would be much more peaceful.

But the passivity of Christ was mostly taken on by the monastic orders in medieval times. For others, focus on war & conquest

Yeah I'm not saying it stops the other harmful elements of dogmatism and conquest. Christianity has been monstrous.

Have to remember that Christ & God are the same person. And Christians have followed the commands of both.

Interpretations with a high Christology have been more peaceful than those with focus on the Laws of God.

Christianity was spread by the sword for years, so of course, but this picture of Jesus always existed in the text too.

There's a ton of contradictory messages in the Bible but it'd a bit easier to work with for reformers, imo given Jesus.
