I was referring to the initial claim that started this that they're the same in over all intrinsic harmfulness.
Yes, I've said so. If ppl lived as Muhammad did or as Jesus did, latter would be much more peaceful.

But the passivity of Christ was mostly taken on by the monastic orders in medieval times. For others, focus on war & conquest
-
Yeah I'm not saying it stops the other harmful elements of dogmatism and conquest. Christianity has been monstrous.

Have to remember that Christ & God are the same person. And Christians have followed the commands of both.
-
Interpretations with a high Christology have been more peaceful than those with focus on the Laws of God.
-
Yeah, but Jesus supercedes the OT for most Christians I think.
-
Now, yes, and he's read through current values. For most of history, it assumed he'd want it enforced & whole bible counted.

Christianity was spread by the sword for years, so of course, but this picture of Jesus always existed in the text too.
-
Yes, but not dreamed that he'd be opposed to this. Said he came with a sword to uphold the law. He life a sacrifice - unique

OK, cool so if everything is close to a wash except for a vast difference between their prophets, that's significant right?
-
Its significant to an academic argument abt the characters of two religious figures. Not to the actual reality of relig history
-
Well, this is what I interpreted you meant by the harmfulness intrinsic to each religion. My mistake.
-
Tried to clarify. Religion is more than leading characters & texts & doctrines. It's mostly practice & values & enforcement.
-
By 'religion,' I am referring to the overall ethos and behaviours stemming from it every bit as much as primary sources.
