I have nothing against, let's say woman programmer ,so long as they are educated/employed on the same criteria as men

Because if firefighters were to be divided equally (50/50) then you would find, maybe 2000 men with the right qualification...

That's not the issue under discussion. Talking abt prescribing gendered social roles, specifically ones in which women stay home.

It's not social. No human society exists where men are caretaker and woman are the breadwinner.

Biology & culture underlie societal norms. We overcome much of biology - contraception is new, frees women & things are changing.

In our society, women are frequently breadwinners and men take on their share of childcare.

Women don't need to marry to survive now & they can choose whether they have kids and how many & they can support them by working.

This takes a lot of the burden off men &couples can decide between them how they'll divide financial & child-care responsibilities

Gender differences make it likely that women will always do most of the childcare but very many of us need more to our lives.

If most women only wanted to do that, I'd suggest that more of us would only do that (where affordable). We have a lot of choice.

Most qualifying doctors are now female whilst most qualifying engineers are male. This seems to reflect differences in our nature

Some branches do and some don't. It usually rejects rigid gender roles but so most non-feminists & anti-feminists.

This is a logistical issue rather than an ethical one. It is not in my nature to stay at home with children all day. I'd go nuts.
