I'm concerned abt the way kids are taught abt Islam having seen curriculum based quizzes like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/quiz/q60304712 …https://twitter.com/SarahAB_UK/status/782149386411401220 …

But it does seem a bit jumpy to start asking questions about teaching on Islam when seems many religions are covered.

These are not true/false questions. I'd want to know the school is providing more balance than this.pic.twitter.com/71BU2IIQkJ

Religious education & history should not be used to promote a narrative. Facts should be presented, context given, questions encouraged.

It is undeniable that religions have bits which can be used to advocate peace or war, equality or oppression, have been & are being.

Fair enough, although that quiz would be fine if administered within the context of Muslim education (as opposed to secular RS)

Religions can teach their values, yes, & it'd be great if they were good ones.

If you follow the link one step back, all major religions plus 'just war theory' are covered. @SarahAB_UK

Yes, not suggesting Islam is the only one that can be taught narrowly without balance.

i.e. I welcome & support Muslims promoting most benign readings, but a neutral platform occluding less benign ones is different
