I'm not at all convinced by the simulation argument. Think Bostrom underestimates computational costs.

But if I bought the premises, I'd say the second option in his trilemma is most likely due to ethics.

Yeah, I mean there are many possible hypotheses but the society creating this simulation would be.

Many other problems though. Simulating a whole universe would be incredibly resource intensive.

Especially if you allowed it to create its own whole universes and those universes to create their own..
