I'm afraid I think the few people claiming children of British Muslims who take them to ISIS do not have the rights of British citizens are full of shit & wld instantly recognise the rights of a child of culturally Christian parents to be protected from equivalent parental abuse

Makes sense if you happen to be ideologically aligned with the state. When my wife’s family escaped Czechoslovakia in 1980, her parents were tried in abstentia for stealing the state’s children.

The problem of course it's that the alternative, of hinging your rights and safety to the state instead of parents, is equally evil. Each society's systems of law and justice must work to parse this issue but 100% power to the parent or state is not the answer.
