I understand the instinct to say "You made your bed. Lie in it." But people are forgetting the children. They're British. They couldn't help being taken out of Britain by mothers who must be imprisoned for terrorism & child endangerment. The kids did not do this. Bring them home.https://twitter.com/itvnews/status/1055543204223815681 …

Then every traitor who is a mother knows she has a free pass because children. She emigrated to another state.

She effectively emigrated. That she did so to try & destroy us will dictate her penalty . In terms of residence her kids are her new states problem

No, she alone must take the penalty for her actions. Sins of the fathers is a terrible ethical value. Children are guiltless and they don't stop deserving the protection of their country if their parents betray it.

It won't work like that. Human rights will ensure a lenient sentence for her followed by a life with free housing & income while she raises the children & all the subsequent ones. No deterrent, no hardship & more danger for our countrt

That's not what I'm arguing for. I'm arguing for locking her up for a long time or leaving her there but bringing the kids home. Would you not have wanted your country to fight for you if your parents had joined a death cult? Could you have made your parents not join one?

Neither of those things will happen. That's a given.

It is what I am arguing for. I'm not prepared to sacrifice children because of what their parents did. My adopted daughter's parents went off and joined a cult where she was systematically abused. This was not her fault. She came home and made a life for herself.

We're way past theory though no? It's about restricting the reach of the cult

I don't know what that means or how it is relevant. If you want to punish kids for the sins of their fathers, I oppose you. You have more in common with those who'd blame all white people for Jim Crow than anyone reasonable & ethical.

Your line is consistent and well-founded, Helen. If there can be a workable solution found, then I’m all for it. Children are not responsible for their parents’ crimes.

In the event of there not being a workable solution, what would you suggest? If the mothers would not be happy to have their children taken from them by social services, I don’t see how they can possibly be allowed to return. It’s a thought that makes me feel profoundly sad.
