I’ve listened to the segment and it’s not an unbridled personal attack. They offered what I consider to be fair criticism of the hoax but not in a mean-spirited way.

Don’t know what else to say. It was obvious that there’s a tad of bad blood between you and the hosts but I honestly didn’t get a sense that their comments were vile or despicable.

It is quite damning to say they are fair to say our motivations are bad: that we gleefully attacked *people*, are smug and acting in bad faith. Its not like they said we mean well but they disagree. If that really were the kind of people we are, I'd want nothing to do with us.

I understand what you mean, but in fairness, they don’t know you. They don’t *know* that you mean well. They gave their opinion, and yes, they’re biased, but it’s entirely possible that they did not spend much time reading your Areo piece or your tweets about the project.

This is the strangest defense of unfairness I’ve ever read. (Didn’t listen to podcast, but you’re admitting they don’t seem to know work but criticized it.)

I’m not defending unfairness. I’m pointing out that they, like many other podcasts, discussed a topic based on listener requests, and they may not have taken the time to read the Areo piece or any of the other writings.

These podcasts you describe don’t seem to have a point if they don’t do homework on their topics.

You may want to address that with the podcast presenters.

Don’t listen to podcasters that I find not informed. On these guys: If they questioned the motives of these fine ppl, won’t check them out. Too many things to listen to/watch.

Questioning is fine but at least include in this some reading of what we ourselves have said they are and been saying they are for years and in many essays.
