Just received this about the @verybadwizards podcast:
"They go at you pretty hard as a person. Not that I think you care, but I think you have kids? You might not want to listen to that one with your kids around. It’s the whole first segment of their most recent episode."
Weak.

I'm sure you will have some issues with their assessment of the project, but it is not some ad hom attack.
-
"It leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth that they do this with such delight and that they've spent this much time to try and take down *people.*" (emphasis mine) -

This is what I am hearing. All about our alleged bad motivations again in attacking poor identity studies by forcing them to be really positive about chaining white people up, training men like dogs and never being able to criticise social justice scholarship.
-
Helen, their criticisms are no worse than some of the more mild criticisms you've already received. The feedback James was quoting makes it out to be some off-the-hook personal attack. It is not this and I'm sure you can make up your own mind. Listen to it, or don't, but please..

Oh, I'm sure I've received much worse. I'm a giant gelatinous mound of lard, apparently, want to genocide trans people, am a psychopath etc. Not starting a war tho. Advising ignoring it.

I was more shocked by Paul because he's normally so balanced and careful imo.
-
I think this is being greatly exaggerated.
-
I don't think it should have any more attention. They didn't read the Areo piece, missed the point entirely and made it all about our motivations which is essentially bullying a poor, vulnerable field which presumably isn't doing any harm to society at all.
