I am torn between responding to these with things like: "You seem to be saying that aardvarks are actually cabbages" or "Could you explain to me why you have decided to believe that Madrid is the capital of France" or completely ignore and mute them.

My favourite kind of bizarre tweet looks a lot like this: "Hi! Could you explain to me why you've suddenly become supremely evil and utterly stupid by endorsing some strawman version I have created of the people I hate most? I'm genuinely curious. Big fan of your work!"

Is there the name for the kind of fallacy where people believe they can define reality out of existence? Humans seem particularly prone to this.

Just said something to my husband that this all sounds a lot like people's response to Jordan Peterson. Peterson: "Jung, Campbell, Eliot, Jung, biblical metaphors, try to act responsibly and you'll feel better, etc." "So you're saying round up all the dissenters, then."pic.twitter.com/KKv3KQlldz

Maybe everytime someone tweets this at you just tweet back the steps to make a good cup of tea so at least they will be fit for some purpose.

Have a standard, nonsensical response that you copy paste every time someone makes a ridiculous tweet to you. Have templates depending on the type of response required. Stop wasting your time with them

I'm going to have to have a template telling you to stop engaging the trolls .... This is like the 5th time I've said this!!

People seem to have lost the ability to think, to listen and to comprehend what other person means when he/she talks. Lost the art of hyperbole, irony, satire etc...
-
That’s the fallout of having to be politically correct lest you’re looking to be vilified.

Well got to learn read between the lines, like we did in the USSR, they would print stories and most did have truth in them, just needed to have rational mind and read between the lines.
