Fair enough, you don't have to do this all day. I am simply pointing out that many of us who've admired you being willing to critique what's going on in the academy are pretty confused that you'd be backing gender ideology.

And absolutely, it's a weird tangent but lesbians being pressured to sleep with men is a direct result of "transwomen are women, no debate" style activism, supported by the pomo academy.https://lesbian-rights-nz.org/shame-receipts/

Yes, I know this is an issue but you need to respond to what I am saying, not raise your own issue coz I have mentioned the general subject. This is happening over and over again because people think in broad clusters of ideas where if you say one thing, you believe the whole set

"But lesbians are being pressured to have sex with trans women" simply isn't a valid response to: "Don't erase trans people"

Lesbians are being told that the category of lesbianism should include males, which in itself erases lesbianism as its own political category & orientation: an act of erasure. Similarly, the female category is threatened which has impacted rights to female only spaces & services.

Yes, thank you. I know this. It doesn't relate to what I said. You cannot assume that I don't know this or think it is fine because I have said that trans people shouldn't be erased. You're thinking in black & white dichotomies and clusters of ideas.

The most extreme example of this was when I said I was not convinced the pay gap was caused by men doing more dangerous jobs and someone responded angrily that I didn't care what Islam was doing to Muslim women.

It was because they associated criticism of a non-sexist explanation for the wage gap with a set of views held by western intersectional feminists and it seemed perfectly reasonable to them to select any of them and argue with that. What you are doing is similar.

Because I have said trans people should not be erased, you have assumed I support a certain gender ideology and therefore it is reasonable to argue with me that lesbians should not be required to have sex with trans women with penises even tho this is not actually related.

I said that I assumed your initial comment was in response to the US news about reasserting the legal definition of sex to be about biology, rather than identity. Sorry if I was wrong and you don't actually disagree with that, as most others using the hashtag you used do.

Please see thread about biology being about more than gonads. I wrote this piece on the subject so I didn't need to keep having this conversation over and over again.https://areomagazine.com/2017/09/27/an-argument-for-a-liberal-and-rational-approach-to-transgender-rights-and-inclusion/ …
