That is exactly what is happening. Your agenda is in doubt, but I don't have a clear answer as to what that other secret nefarious agenda is.

It depends where the other person is coming from. Usually, its that we're secretly reactionary rightists but after the socialists came out in support of us and we condemned Hungary's shutting down of gender studies, we've been accused of being Marxists & libtards again.

A sign of the times and/or a sign that you have attracted a disproportionate amount of ideological followers. Nuance should be seen as positive tho, I wish more people were willing to piss off their audience in favour of honesty.

Are you a liberal lefty? You sound like a liberal lefty. If so, this is all aimed primarily at you.

Unsure afte previous confusion if this is aimed at me. If it is, I’d say I’m a centre left person. Certainly not far left.

These are the people we wanted to reach. We called them the wavering lefties to describe people who do not agree with the postmodern epistemology and identitarianism but are sympathetic to their motives (as are we) and reluctant to consider them much of a problem.

Yes I understood that but I’m not naive about these issues. You are from the UK? I went to SOAS for undergrad/first masters, I know very well influence of critical thinking/postmodernism in humanities. It’s part of why I switched to do cognitive anthropology at Oxford.

Its not naivety but a reluctance to criticise this too much when aims are good. People usually see the problem but try to minimise it co worse shit going on on other side and core equality aims are shared. We're trying to convince them condemning it will help strengthen the left

And I agree with that. I entirely agree you should be willing to criticise the left for excesses. You don’t need to convince me that is worthwhile. I’m more sceptical when people focus on that to exclusion of almost everything else and are silent on issues from right. See Rubin.

Indeed but there is also value in speaking to what we know and I think we do need to specialise. I do theory. Peter does epistemology. James does extremism (left and right) and we all do liberal ethics. The far-right is so clearly bad its like shooting fish in a barrel.

People don't see the problem on the left (and by 'people,' I mean my people) because its so bloody complicated and rooted in obscure waffle. I need to focus on that. Before this, I focused on Christianity most. Ideology, epistemology & psychology interest me. Right is boring.

Yes, one can debunk creationism or flat-eartherism, but there's not much point - they are loons who are impossible to reach. Critical theory theory ideas though, are held in high regard by many intelligent & rational people who perhaps haven't given the topic enough thought.

Each to their own. I find ideological biases on right/left to be every bit as problematic, worthy of criticism, and ‘interesting’. But agree that left does have specific problems that can seem arcane/intractable.
