As someone who was until recently very afraid of public speaking, I still object to singling out women as fearful in this way and making special allowances for them. @PeterBoghossian provided support by having me talk at him over Skype and texting me "You are awesome! You got this!" at regular intervals. And@IonaItalia offered sympathy & offered to lend me her personality which loves public speaking if we could figure out how.Show this thread -
And I STILL had to go to doctor due to panic attacks & insomnia and get short-term medication and I STILL say that we shouldn't coddle people but encourage them to push through it or not and we especially shouldn't coddle by gender & define women as fearful in this way.
