OK, I need to have a thread about centrism coz I am being accused of it again in terms of doing 'both sides' stuff. I've said before why I don't think centrism (in the sense of taking a middle position on everything rather than finding your views somewhere near the middle) works.

Eg, in the most extreme difference we know of, it was found that no woman has ever passed strength & stamina requirements to be a marine. But not rejected on the grounds of being women but on not having the strength or stamina. If one day, a woman does, she should be accepted

We don't need to deny that there are different distributions of traits among different groups of people with shared characteristics. Much evidence that there is. I've argued this before on a panel supporting James Damore. But this doesn't justify discriminating against groups.

If women only make up 20% of people with tech skills and interest, we can both acknowledge that there is a difference and still not discriminate against that 20% of women.

What's the difference between unsuitability and discrimination? You decided on what counts as evidence and what it is. The example you give adds in dimension of time and what then might count as evidence at later point.
-
I still know what you mean. I have pointed out several times that I am talking about not discriminating on the grounds of gender, race and sexuality and not on an individual's unsuitability for, say, a job. This is compatible with the evidence that we are overlapping populations.
-
I don't decide what is evidence. Please explain yourself or go away. Do you think there is evidence that an entire race, sex or sexuality group exhibits traits that would justify discrimination in employment? If so, you are wrong. The evidence shows overlapping distributions.
