Yes, it is. I think more attention should be paid to misandry which is socially acceptable in liberal circles in a way that misogyny isn't but we must not make it illegal. Ppl must be allowed to hate men or women & then the rest of us can despise & pity them.https://twitter.com/PiersBenn/status/1052127166299824130 …

Misandry certainly exists, sometimes expressed under cover of feminism. But it is surely a mistake to make either misogyny or misandry into 'hate crimes'. BBC News - Hostility to men and the elderly could become hate crimes https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45870948 …

The three "unforgivable" ideological positions are 1) promote use of violence 2) promote discrimination on innate properties 3) limit freedom of speech Most of the dishonest actors claim to fight discrimination but are actually just new forms of it.

The hate speech laws in the UK have always made me feel a little awkward. Whilst I cannot agree with someone being racist, sexist, etc, and in fact abhor those attitudes, I do agree that it shouldn't be illegal to voice that opinion if it does not incite violence. Very fine line.

Can I continue to think of them as as different species, sharing some humanoid aspects? That is what we are. I despise and pity people that refuse to accept the neurological differences between sexes and "gender" is a word for linguistics, not biosciences.

One nice thing about proportionality of punishment is that it makes rehabilitation easier and more desirable. If a misogynist or misandrist grows up, we can forgive them. Even in an internet age, crimes are harder to overcome than even severe errors.

Agreed, hate should be no more a crime than love should be a crime. It is an abuse of power dictate to people what they should feel.

That's interesting. They'll look at misogyny and misandry, but the headline thought to get most reaction is the one they chose

Hating men or women can't be stopped. Manifesting that hatred could be, but is unnecessary. There are already laws in place which deal with crimes against men or women.
