Noooooo. Those are the extremes of postmodernists and the stereotype of naive positivists. Most people are neither. Best to accept that knowledge is always provisional but that objective reality does exist & there are effective rational, empirical ways of getting closest to ithttps://twitter.com/RemiAdekoya1/status/1051763339821543424 …

There are two types of educated people today. Those who realize none of us really know anything anyway and those who think they've got the world figured out. The insufferable smugness of the latter is what fuels a lot of the anti-elite feelings of today in the rest of society.

He's basically saying that his side is the rational one and the other side is wrong. Then he has the nerve to claim it's the other side who's smug.

Objective reality always exists; only issue is our ability to perceive & understand it. Radiation always existed, even before we built Geiger counters & learned how to interpret the data streaming in from said device.

There are two types of people in the world - those who divide the world into two types of people, and those who don’t. And yes, there is some irony here!

Why do I see many such attempts to put people at only two extremes of a scale, when in reality most r at some point along it? Due to political ideas combined w tribalism, sure, but probably also our brains' innate tendency to find simplification of complex matters, I suppose..
