Unsolicited advice: I’ve been following your exchange with this fellow for some time now. Note how a user with 2 followers has wasted hours of ur time, which u could have used to compile your arguments a thorouh article, which you could then simply throw at trolls like these. :)

It doesn't take a minute's search to confirm that Cultural Marxism is a real discipline, and not some alt-right straw man. https://www.jstor.org/stable/20007001?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents …

Because that opens them up to the possibility of being wrong, people are putting blind faith into ideologies with almost cult like levels of devotion. It doesn't matter how logical someone else view is, it's different therefore it's wrong.

Is there any chance that during a quiet moment later they'll acknowledge their lack of clarity and maybe do better in future? It's such a good payoff for being wrong.

Not "Jews." Dave Rubin, who happens to be Jewish. And I didn't say he was an alt right sympathiser. I said I dislike his style of softballing interviews with the alt right. Good grief, what a bizarre summary of that opinion.

I don’t think they’re “making shit up”... I think they’re *misinterpreting*. They believe they’re being truthful but they’re mistaken about the truth. It’s an important distinction to make.
-
To be fair, interpretation usually requires inferences that go beyond one’s available information, so they *are* technically making up stuff. They just believe the stuff they’re making up is accurate.

You're probably using the wrong medium, Helen. Twitter is nothing but a shit storm. It's not conducive to reasonable discussion.

Because they're lazy. It's easier to log a couple light missiles rather than engage. Thinking is exhausting for many.
-
Yes, this is why. Reasoning with logic and evidence is hard. It hurts my brain trying to do it. Cheap signalling is easier, and if others believe it, why not believe it yourself?
