@ConceptualJames @HPluckrose — My daughter’s school is instituting a pilot program on anti-bias education, lgbt issues, gender issues, etc. She is 3 years old. Includes classroom and parental education. What are the best resources to debate these topics/present alternative info?

I would just withdraw her saying you have your own methods for tackling bias. Your daughter could be negatively impacted by being taught at a very young age that white kids are racist but it's the racial minority kids who are likely to be impacted worse.

This is my concern. They claim to be combating “harmful racial stereotypes” but based on what I’ve read, I believe the opposite could occur. My 3 year old attaches no meaning to racial differences, and I’m not sure that drawing her attention to these issues is helpful. 1/

They told me that parents of color have these conversations early and offen, so they want to bring the rest of the classroom up to speed. But I’m still not convinced it’s beneficial. I’m hoping to right the ship, since it’s still a pilot program. Instead of withdrawing

In the same way that boys and men can learn self-loathing or rage at being told they're inherently abusive but girls learn weakness, fear and fragility from being told the world is against them.
