Interesting how these anti-progressive academics think critical theory & gender studies are problematic but have no problem validating far-right conspiracy theories originating from Nazi Germany.

Oh, I see, they think the Mein Kampf thing was some kind of “validation,” and not at all a condemnation of a journal that would publish such utter nonsense? Brilliant. 👎🏻🙄

Unless they’d picked up the Mein Kampf ref before the admission, any subsequent criticism in that basis is at best weak & IMO, utterly invalid. That’s not to suggest it won’t be attempted!

Helen, I am so, so sorry you are being misunderstood and treated this way. I can identify with how it feels to be labeled so wrongly and misjudged, and so, since you’re sharing your pain with me, I’ll do the same...

After the Austin bombings, my homeschooling group was painted as a white suprem training (something) by Buzzfeed. It was the worst week of my life. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/tasneemnashrulla/austin-bombing-suspect-mark-anthony-conditt …pic.twitter.com/kIURavxnXJ

Other homeschoolers said I should “take responsibility” because of my religion. All my friends were mobbed by reporters. I did find a really good Huffpo reporter who listened. I turned down a CBS TV interview, because they asked me to defend the bomber.

Houston Chronicle asked if I thought he did it because he was homeschooled. She asked me that while knowing that I homeschool my kids. All because we used to go to church with that family. Anyway, I was basically called a “supremacist” for being a Christian home educator.

Instinctive exclamation. Not anything to do with you saying you are a Christian.

Anyway, I’m sure I don’t know all your feelings. 😢 But I definitely know what it’s like to have an seemingly endless stream of negativity on the Internet about me. I tried really hard not to look at it, but even my friends were freaking out and I had to counteract the lies.💔

Listening and understanding takes more effort and investment. We’re all responding to so much information all the time, we’re probably all guilty of this from time to time.
