Also, outlets keep referring to me as a professor or calling me "Dr." No. I have a Masters in Early Modern Studies 1300 - 1700. I might go back and do my PhD if anywhere will have me but probably not. I prefer doing my own thing now.

I was going to ask what your credentials were, seeing as one tweet I saw had all three of you from the sting labelled as "teachers". I thought you were more qualified than just that. One down, two to go. Unless you would clear up the situation for me, that would be appreciated.

James is a maths PhD. Peter is a non-tenure track professor of philosophy.

Thank you Helen. I did laugh a bit at the thought of teachers writing academic papers for peer review. After marking student homework, what teacher would have the time for that?

I thought for a second that your were being called "Dr. No" and was very confused.

The university system these days is a joke. Lots of our best writers and thinkers lack doctorates. Karen Straughan, whose appetite for research and dispassionate analysis is quite amazing, was a waitress at Tony Roma's fer chrissakes. Keep up the good work and stay outside.

Doing your own thing as an independent scholar is certainly a respectable, and understandable, option. But I sort of wish more people like yourself stayed in academia. I don't know if you've noticed, but we in the Humanities kinda desperately need you.

Yeah, earlier I saw an outlet refer to you as holding "conservative views" on women's issues too (published when you spoke at PSU) which I'm fairly sure is not accurate

"Dr." is merely an academic artifice, In October '62, the media servilely called Castro "Dr. Castro." In some Latin American academia, an MS suffices to be "Dr." Outside academia, it's next to meaningless. Keep on doing your own thing.

Caution: I’m about to be extremely white. Have you listened to the @TidesHistory podcast parts on the Early Modern era, and if so, how do you rate the historiography therein?
