I'd actually be very interested in info on this. It might be true that men are more prone to seek women's time and space than other men's but I strongly suspect they are not nearly as prone to this as women are. I have ranted about this frequently. I was even the subject of an intervention from mothers at the school because I declined to join those who walked their dogs after school drop-off & went alone. Them: "You're getting a reputation for being unsociable. Why won't you walk with us?" Me: "Because I'm unsociable."

I know this is a slightly different thing to men making unwanted small talk with women of an irritating kind like "Smile! It may never happen." But I think if we're going to claim men encroach on women's space & time coz of some sense of entitlement, it merits being brought up.

See, I often get complaints from my wife on these things. She is constantly getting negative feedback from her social group because "I" dont like being social with them, or their husbands. The expectation is there, just never brought to me personally.
