Just to clear up any confusion: I'm not here to delegitimize men's struggles. I'm just hoping that we can finally start legitimizing women's. Regardless of what you've decided about me, I'm not "anti-men". I am, however, super "pro-women". You should be too.

eg, we hear a lot about women being expected to do more of the childcare but very little about it nearly always being women who are asked if they intend to return to work after having a child while men are seldom assumed to have that choice.

There are certainly norms on both sides that benefit one sex over another, it's hard for me to not view the crux of power -- money, politics, control over another's body, etc. -- as favoring males in our societies. And that would explain some of the imbalances you criticize.

I don't think that works. Women control most of the money although we earn less. We have equal access to politics as men but few people have the qualities it takes to do that and I suspect more who do are men. Men don't have control over women's bodies.
