I’m gender critical and I believe gender is a mix between social construct *and* an expression of biology. The crux of the matter for me is that expression of gender is one thing but sex is something you’re born with and can’t be changed.

Not sure that's quite right either. Most gender critical feminists accept gender dysphoria and the right of people to do with their bodies what they will. The point of contention is the claim that trans people can change sex, or that sex is a spectrum.

People use ‘gender’ in different ways. I’ve always understood it to mean ‘the state of being male or female’ (a synonym for sex) but used primarily with reference to cultural issues. The GC crowd seem to mean ‘gender norms’; the trans lobby ‘gender identity’. How do you use it?

Supplementary question: do you think transgenderism is one phenomenon or a number of different phenomena?
