Spoken like a Fundie attacking science (ie evolution) that they don't understand. Postmodern critique was/is used to uncover power and ideology in our knowledge production systems (epistemology). This is beneficial to science as it sheds light on prejudice disguised as science.

Agreed. That's why I refer to it as the 'Postmodern Critique'. To me it is just a useful tool in certain circumstances, one that remains useful even to those of us who would not identify with the overall project as such.

I'm willing to accept that. I'm mainly speaking about it because I think there are a lot of problematic interpretations (on all sides) that are threatening to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I'm aware of that. I don't need an introduction to the ideas. But we are talking very specifically of how it has been incorporated into various identity studies.
