LOL. Me: Gender Studies is not including biology in its study of gender differences. OP: That's not true! Look at these feminists engaging with science! *Passes me examples of feminists denouncing biological gender differences & claiming the body is a cultural construct.*

The word 'gender' is useless and misleading. It has been hijacked by gender ideologues who are totally and beyond repear brainwashed. There are two sexes and there are psychosocial differences between these two sexes.

We're not going to get rid of gender. Its the adjective related to sex & exists as long as we have writing. If the sentence 'She is a very feminine woman' or 'He's a manly man' make sense to you, you already have a concept of gender separate to sex.

That's because the word ‘gender’ originally had a purely grammatical meaning in languages that classify their nouns as masculine, feminine or neuter.

That's not why such observations exist. People have been telling men how to be manly and women how to be womanly forever.

Yes, but feminine men are still men and masculine women are still women. Gender is adjectival. The poles are not man/woman - those are nouns. Gender is masculine<->feminine. Both sexes have both masculine and feminine traits, though their average distributions are different.

Yes, I know. That's the point. We're not only going to talk about the nouns. We're still always going to talk about the adjectives. When we do the former, we are talking about the sex. When we do the latter, we are talking about gender. I don't see that ever going away.

In my two native languages (Polish and Russian) there's no 'gender', only sex. Some men are more feminine, some women are more masculine. This is a matter of personality, not some mysterious 'gender'.

It's not really that mysterious. But it's made more complicated by the fact that the word gender refers to 3 different things. Gender roles, gender expression, & gender identity are not coterminous, although some equivocate between the 3 because they don't draw clear distinctions

They don't get it. If they continue to deny sex differences, the result would just be the continuation of the view of the male as a generic specimen in studies (because it's easier to study: eg. there's no menst. cycle), and thus less knowledge on female-specific issues e.g. meds

They can try treating sex chromosome linked conditions with social treatments and see how well it goes. Ignoring the biology undermines so many fields it is no longer parody or overzealous activism. It is simply denial of reality.

As a gender studies person from back when the discipline was in its infancy, I get so mad at this idea. Gender studies when I was young was about the interaction between body and culture, not the erasure of body by culture.

In the meantime, professions like neuroscientists can't suggest there are differences and let research untouched because they fear they get sacrificed on the altar of social justice...

Without the prison of the body we can follow the infantile phantasy and ascend to our true, complete form as asexual, androgynous, hermaphrodites capable of being our own parents and not hemmed into either restrictive sex.
