Sadly, he died at 29 due to complications of the medication he took to control his schizophrenia. One caused him a stomach ulcer & another caused him not to wake up when he vomited in his sleep. RIP, Martin.

He was one of the few schizophrenics who suffered (terrifying) visual hallucinations. Because he was a skeptic & rejected the supernatural, he saw things which could have been real - dead bodies & murderers & aggressive dogs.

He called the police once because he saw a dead body in our flat. I got in & convinced him it was a hallucination & cancelled them but obviously, they turned up anyway & demanded to be allowed to look around. He apologised to them & they were so kind.

Told him that they would much rather he called them when he thought he saw a serious crime or danger & it turned out to be a hallucination than not call them assuming it was one when it was real. I'd been rather anti-police upto this point (very young, bit radical) but not after.
