I was intending to spend another 9 days compiling information into documents before writing anything but it was pointed out to me that I am being a little excessive when the chapter is only to be 6,000 words & I already have >50,000 of research notes.

Congratulations! This is probably a bad time to mention that first-time authors are often advised, on completing their first chapter, to delete their first paragraph in its entirety.
