I particularly dislike 'white, male rationalism', not because it insults white men but because it insults everyone else. It revives the old sexist, imperialist ideas that women & non-white men are irrational but now it reassures us that this is a good thing. Do you have ears? He say that in some context, race matter. Listen to the original podcast, I did, the context is the same
-
It's not coherent to say that in some contexts race matters? In that example, he's saying that fear of being racist could lead someone to make bad decisions. If you think it never could, you'll need to make an argument for that.
-
"race doesn't matter" "race does" Why does he criticize people using the basis of race when he does the same? BTW, re-read your tweet, because making bad decisions according to him is ignoring the basis of race
-
Yes, if you think race matters sometimes but not others, you think there are contexts in which race matters. He probably disagrees with them about when it matters.
-
"probably" see? You actually don't really know Harris clear position on that.

The idea is that because of historical discrimination, most areas of academia and innovation are biased towards white people. Diversity and inclusion ensures that more than just white (male) people get to participate.
