There’s a difference though between a thoughtful but wrong argument and a dogmatic or crassly fallacious wrong argument; and quite often people make bad arguments for good conclusions.

Yes, but this isn't the context of what was being asked of me. I can name loads of people who make thoughtful but wrong arguments. I cannot think they are both wrong and well-reasoned.

I think I understand you- I don't agree with you on a lot of stuff but follow you because I love (and slightly envy) your surgical precision with language. I am just commenting on how rare non-insanity is, so it's become a stand-in for reasonable among those of us less precise.
