Indeed it is. I consider myself well off because after my bills & groceries go out, I have £60 a week to do what I like with. Most people are not this lucky. The individual I quote tweeted would probably consider this poor.https://twitter.com/IonaItalia/status/1004117638279131136 …

At this point I can see people definitely worse&better off then my husband&I are. 2.5years ago I really couldn't-we were in a homeless shelter&my husband was in&out of emergency rooms for eating most of the food &my organs were starting2shut down from avoiding most of said food.

We just bought this house/property about 3 months ago, we're still struggling to get things together, house needs work but... We won't starve, my husband is much better & I'm back to finishing my bachelor's degree. So things are definitely improving.

Good! I hope things get steadily better. I’m rooting for you! xoxo

We were waiting on an estate battle to finally finish& definitely "errors" were made that helped make us homeless by workers in the welfare system but... I'm glad this far it was us, I know it's killed many but it's added to my strength.

I likely have a few more herniated disks in my spinal column but.. as long as I can survive soon childbirth, even if 1 becomes all that's possible. I'll confirm my now belief that more was gained by us there than lost!

After my summer classes are done, I'll do a fuller writeup on the mess that the shelter system is but for now, suffice it to say in NYC it really is easier & better for you if you're an able bodied parolee than a disabled person in said system.

I've reached 'that age' (71) where those figures astound me. Food bill when I married: 3pounds10shillings. Hubby and I were OTM when his wage reached 20pounds - we bought our first house. My occasional cheap wine right now = $5 Australian and it's not at all bad.

You can get very drinkable Aussie wines for $5. :) (Ahem, a friend told me.)
