I don't underestimate the challenge faced by young people now. My adopted daughter is trying to buy a home & she's struggling despite both she and her fiancé earning good money. I'm helping as much as I can. I was very lucky to buy my first home in a property slump.

I'm just not that concerned about young ppl who claim to living in a nightmare world while affording a roof over their heads or living with parents, having nights out, technology, drink, drugs etc. I'm much more concerned about families working hard & still relying on food banks.

I'm more concerned about homeless mentally ill people, pensioners choosing between eating and heating their homes, disabled people being denied Disability Living Allowance, refugees being imprisoned, tower blocks going up in flames etc.

I often don't have that. But I've never been homeless or gone hungry. Unlike vast swathes of the world.

Absolutely. Part of my privilege is, tho I am not wealthy, my parents are & I've never been afraid of being homeless & hungry. When Dave & I first got together, we had £50 a week for food after bills went out. We spent £20 on food, £20 on tobacco & £10 on cheap wine for fri night

Good priorities. :)

At this point I can see people definitely worse&better off then my husband&I are. 2.5years ago I really couldn't-we were in a homeless shelter&my husband was in&out of emergency rooms for eating most of the food &my organs were starting2shut down from avoiding most of said food.

We just bought this house/property about 3 months ago, we're still struggling to get things together, house needs work but... We won't starve, my husband is much better & I'm back to finishing my bachelor's degree. So things are definitely improving.
-
Good! I hope things get steadily better. I’m rooting for you! xoxo

We were waiting on an estate battle to finally finish& definitely "errors" were made that helped make us homeless by workers in the welfare system but... I'm glad this far it was us, I know it's killed many but it's added to my strength.

I remember when I was around 6 or 7ish and a US-soldier gave me a pound of flour, some carrots, a 'huge' slice of bacon and a bar of chocolate. That night me mum, some of me friends and I feasted like kings. Felt like a night of paradise in a reality of hell. Esp. the chocolate.
