You seem to be missing my point. Did you see this part?https://twitter.com/sexismisme/status/1002338875170312192?s=21 …

More IOW, I’m not sure the distinction between conditioned and volitional is always meaningful. A deeply conditioned desire is one’s volition.

Yes, changing the subject to it would effectively end meaningful conversation on the point of women's choices & take us into philosophical meanderings on the nature of free will & how we can only think within the confines of language & culture so I'm not going to do that.

That “we can only think within the confines of language & culture” is also most certainly not my point. You are way off base here. But it does touch on nature of free will, which seems pretty relevant to a discussion about choices, don’t you think?

Potentially, yes, but not this one so I will choose not to follow this line of thinking, but thank you.

That’s fine. I maintain that you’ve badly misinterpreted my point here if you think I’m somehow disputing your thesis. My contention is that there’s a fundamental confusion in the critique you’re responding to. But no hard feelings.

I don't know exactly where you are going but it's not where I want to go. I am struggling with Twitter at the moment coz ppl naturally take conversations off in ways that interest them & I feel like I have to respond to all when I shld just only respond to ones going where I am

That’s fine, you’re obv not obligated to read, respond, or agree with me. But I think the argument you’ve made against me misses the point I’m actually making. We can leave it at that.

I am not making any argument against you. I just don't want to go off into to what extent choices are free apart from on the level that we have the legal right to them & no serious social sanctions for them.
