Never subscribed to that idea. Neither has any woman I know. I left the job as soon as I was more qualified & created better opportunities for myself outside of the care sector. It's certainly the choice I have felt privileged to be able to make. I can afford to write which I love because I can just about live off the proceeds of an inheritance. I could earn better money if I chose but why would I, if I don't have to?

Well, my particular situation is one where I could make a lot more money, I drive big trucks for a living, if I chose to drive over the road or gone from home extended periods. I have, instead, chose to work locally for much less money and be home every night/ weekend.

Then you agree. You have chosen a more fulfilling life over a better income. The original tweet suggested that women have been conned into believing that greater fulfillment is as good as greater income.
