With the evidence that we are overlapping populations. It's not at all difficult to understand and it refutes both blank slatism and the claim that men and women have different natural roles in life.https://twitter.com/Trunkulent/status/1000981224519815169 …

I agree with this, but on the other side you get people using it as justification for any claim because "biology." How do you revoke that without them calling you a constructivist or whatnot?

If you find it difficult to grasp the concept of overlapping populations, think of height. (British) men are on average 5 ft 9 and women are 5 ft 5. That is only a 7% difference. Many women exist who are taller than the average man & many men who are shorter than average woman.

No-one says to me 'You can't be 5 ft 9. That's a man's height' because that is clearly ludicrous. I am 5 ft 9 regardless of statistical averages. The same is true of interests & abilities. Many women exist who are 5 ft 9 & many exist who want to work in tech.

Nevertheless, we shouldn't be surprised if 80% of the people who are 5 ft 9 and 80% of people who are tech engineers are men. (I don't know the percentages). This is all that overlapping populations means. It is a fact that men & women differ on average but vary as individuals.pic.twitter.com/fY6wZNh4nZ

merely looking at your avatar is evidence alone that men and women DO have different natural roles in life.

Do tell? I, for one, can tell absolutely nothing about Helen's role in life from her avatar.

I am ignoring that. Usually references to my avatar by Pepes are made to point out that I am fat.

Understanding distributions or at least normal distributions helps too. Hopefully they are still teaching this in schools, but evidence suggests they may not be.
