Please, people, only respond to me if you have something to say. If its all going to be vague abstractions & waffly woo, don't bother. I am instituting a new policy - people have three tweets to make a clear point of some kind or they're getting muted.

For anyone who is unclear where I stand on things: I am primarily a liberal humanist - this means I value freedom, universality, equal opportunities and kindness. I am a skeptic - this means I require evidence for things to believe in them.

If you appreciate my criticisms of postmodern woo but then expect me to have patience with theological or metaphysical woo, you will be disappointed. If you like my opposition to left-wing identity politics but then expect me to appreciate right-wing identity politics, hard luck.

I don't need everybody else to be a liberal humanist or a skeptic or to only talk to me about things which accord with that but at least recognise that I am one.

Even though I'm somewhere to the right of you politically, I think you mostly make very good sense. I'm starting to think that the x-y plotting of a person's political position is inherently flawed and should require the use of a 'z' axis.

I just don't have the grasp of "waffly woo" words to describe how that would work...
