Where is it going? As an academic, why be wary of another academic sharing his ideas?

Academics don't tend to regard criticism of other academics as being wary of them sharing their ideas. This is known as engagement with them which is how scholarship and knowledge progresses. Otherwise, we'd never get anywhere. We'd be stuck with the first ideas ever written.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm happy for academics to criticise other academics. I'm not an idiot. But saying you're "wary" in my experience leads to censorship

But then you are arguing against something that hasnt been argued for. We are all (presumably) wary of where the postmodern left is going. Peterson certainly is. It;s his central thesis. Must he not say so or is it just ppl who are wary of him who shouldn't?

Yes, you're allowed to say you're wary. But wary has become code for "let's censor this person". And censorship is more likely to happen to right-leaning individuals because of the prevailing left-wing ideology across the media and universities

"has become code " What an interesting way to say, "what i wished they'd actually said"

It's disappointing because Peterson himself has been accused of 'really meaning' something awful over and over again. Supporters of him using Cathy Newman tactics on people who disagree with him thoughtfully and agree where they can loses them any moral highground.
