I shall be writing a review of this book shortly. It stands in direct contradiction to the kind of Social Justice approach rooted in postmodernism as exemplified by Robin DiAngelo and consequently is genuinely antiracist. It makes me optimistic.

My measurement is actually worse after three days of exercising, but this is probably because my fitbit has had a chance to properly measure how my heart copes with aerobic exercise. I have bitten the bullet & stepped on the scales. I have just over 3 stone (43lbs, 19KG) to lose to stop being dangerously overweight. I intend to lose a stone a month & hit that goal before our book comes out in May. Also have my cardio health in 'average to good'.

The comfortable & contented tiredness that comes at the end of a physically active & intellectually productive day and that you can just relax into is so enjoyable while the grumpy & foggy-headed tiredness that comes from sleep deprivation is so horrible.

Slept well. Much energy. I feel much better after just two days of avoiding political twitter, eating healthily, exercising & sleep hygiene. I have been grumpy for several days actually coz sleep deprived. Consequently Nero, the naughty pup, now thinks one of his names is 'Fuck Off' as well as 'Stop It' and 'Go Away.' Very bad dog-parenting. Long walks today tho!

Then I can start making the alarm time later by 15 mins a day until seven and then sleep time earlier by 15 mins a day until 11 while increasing exercise. This is a tried and tested way of fixing this problem. Today will be a grumpy day tho.

The solution to this is counterintuitive. Left to my own devices now, I would sleep early tonight & sleep for about 8 hours coz sleep deprived but then I wouldn't sleep the next night. Instead of this, I will allow sleeping time from 12-6 for the next three days.

But anyway, I kept to my steps & calorie goal yesterday & was in bed before midnight. So, obviously I was up at 4.30 this morning. This is the kind of thing that throws me off & messes up everything. Not this time.
