My god. How the Ops room has changed from my day. CRT sets, dark and dingy place with UV lights, parallel rulers and dividers to calculate vectors and CPA's. We were the computers :) You youngsters don't know how lucky you are! lol!!

I visited QE a month or so ago and as an ex ORS I found it all underwhelming and lack of character from the good days. I know the new CS has done away with stateboards but it all gave it that ambiance that made an Ops Room.

Would be a nice upgrade to have a missile defense system fitted, couple of martlet launchers for instance. US carriers feel there is a need for them, are we the only carrier operator without a missile defense system fitted?
