They are pointing out a man overboard dummy. An important task the flight deck crew carry out so the seaboat can be directed on to recover.

Did they get Oscar? In USN the man overboard dummy is called Oscar, as the "O" or Oscar flag is flown during man overboard operations to let neighboring ships know you will be maneuvering while conducting recovery efferts This explanation was more for civvies
