The operational test tempo continues to build here at #WESTLANT19 as we launch and recover pairs of UK Lightnings, within seconds of each other. This enables us to generate sorties at a much faster rate. @RoyalNavy @RoyalAirForce @17SqnRAF @OC617Sqn @RAF_Marham #FlyNavy #UKF35pic.twitter.com/spNQJHMli7

Surely you mean “recover” aircraft at a faster rate rather than generate, which is primarily an engineering function?

I would think they mean recover, re-arm, and launch quicker enabling a higher rate of sorties than a conventional carrier.

Are rolling landings part of your standard sortie rehearsal, or is the assumption that aircraft will usually be lighter, and so an in-place (or whatever the term should be) is normal?

What happens if you can't open the lid when landing? 😬😬 Honest question, any spare arrestor wires around, or a net?

It doesn't have a tailhook and no no arrestor wires which has benefits for the STOVL.
