Turnhouse (Edinburgh airport) is more important in carrier aviation being the base for the HMS Furious pilots in WW1 where they practiced for the first carrier borne bombing raid (19/07/1918).

Great picture..... as someone who lives 5 minutes from Glasgow Airport it’s fascinating to see. Interesting that there is also a commonwealth war graves site literally at the Inchinnan end of the runway which I found recently
